Received BA in Social Work from Goshen College in Goshen Indiana in 1975.

Received MA in Counseling from University of Illinois in Springfield in 1978.

Was Executive Director of Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Central Region for 30 years.

Currently substitute teaching.

Married to Don Beard and resides in Tremont, Illinois. Has three children.

Attends New Life Christian Church in Morton, Illinois.
