Don
Davis Sr. of Flanagan, Illinois and Violet M.
Bachman of Metamora, Illinois were married June 22,
1939.
-
Don
Sr. attended Goshen College in Goshen, Indiana and
served in the US Army as a Medic during WWII.

Graduated
from Worsham Mortuary School in Chicago, Illinois in
1946. He and his wife moved to Hopedale, Illinois in
1947 when they purchased the former Rickett Funeral
home in Hopedale.

In 1950, they founded Davis Mortuary in Tremont,
Illinois and owned and operated both funeral homes
until 1981 when they retired and sold the family
business to their son, Don Jr., who had been
employed at the funeral homes since Oct. of 1964.

Don Sr. and Violet have three children, ten
grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren and
are members of the Hopedale Mennonite Church.
-
They reside in Tremont, Illinois and spend the
winter months near Orlando, Florida.
