Earl White
 

Earl E. White, 92, of Tremont, passed away at 7:15 pm. Tuesday, January 31, 2012, at his home, surrounded by his family.

He was born September 23, 1919 in Morgantown, KY, the son of B. Hobart and Dona Abner White.  He married Louise Anna Oertle on April 6, 1940 and she passed away on June 11, 1990.  He married Vivien Oertle on October 23, 1994 in Tremont, and she survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Phyllis (William) Emmons and Glenda (Robert) Kaiser, both of Tremont; two stepsons, Larry (Martha) Oertle of Tremont and Steven (Kathy) Oertle of Lexington; three grandchildren, Kim Uphoff, Kevin (Patti) Uphoff and Kara (Daniel) Pauley; four step grandchildren, Justin (Nicole) Oertle, Melissa Oertle, Susan Oertle and Linda (John) Frintz; five great grandchildren; two step great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews; one brother, Huey (Arlene) White of Pekin; and one sister, Rose Miesner of Manito.

Mr. White was preceded in death by three brothers, Royce, John and Raymond and four sisters, Muriel, Pearl, Lottie and Gertie.

Earl was a member of Tremont Baptist Church.  He served with the US Army in Okinawa and Japan during WWII and was a lifetime member of V.F.W. Post 5921 in Morton. He worked for Tremont Oil Co. for 43 years.

His funeral will be at 11:00 am. Friday, February 3, 2012, at Tremont Baptist Church.  Pastor Noah Lee will officiate.  Visitation will be from 5 to 7 pm. Thursday, February 2, at Davis Mortuary in Tremont.  Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery in Tremont with full military honors provided.
