Betty L. Riggenbach Windsor, 90, of Pekin, formerly of Tremont, passed away at 1:55 PM Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at Pekin Hospital.
She was born February 9, 1921 in Pekin to John and Christine Petrie Houston. She first married John Riggenbach on February 22, 1947 and he passed away April 11, 1979. She later married Glen “Duke” Windsor on November 9, 1990 and he passed away April 20, 2005. |
Surviving are one son, James (Donna) Riggenbach of Pekin; three grandchildren, Jami (Brad) Hays, Lance (Sara) Riggenbach, and Mandy (Rob) Woll; nine great grandchildren, Nathan, Lance, Payton, Luke, Landon, Sidney, Dawson, Paxton, and Journey, all of Pekin; one sister, Phyllis (Elmer) Crager of Westport, CT.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, John Houston.
Betty graduated from Pekin High School in 1939 and worked for Middle States Telephone Company in Pekin for seven years.
She worked at Windsor Pharmacy in Tremont for 19 years and Tremont Pharmacy for 7 years, retiring in October 1990.
She was a member of Second Reformed Church in Pekin and attended Tremont Baptist Church, a member of Tremont American Legion Auxiliary for 48 years and a member of Tremont Historical Society.
Her funeral will be at 11:00 AM Friday, January 27, 2012 at Davis Mortuary in Tremont. Pastor Noah Lee will officiate. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the mortuary. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery in Tremont.
